Toronto-based graphic designer, Marc Ghali, combined the faces of two similar figures in the public eye decades later for what he’s called perfect pairings – then and now. I would argue that JT should have been combined with MJ rather than Elvis, but it’s more about making the visual than matching the talents of any of these icons. They’re kind of amazing, right?

Model Miles and boyfriend Zachary Quinto, out walking the dogs

They’ve been dating a while it seems but when they showed up at the CFDA after-party at The Standard the other night, it reminded me again about model Miles McMillan. I wanted to know more about him, so I did a little looking around. He was discovered in ’09 as an art student at NYU. Since then, the 23-year-old California native (he looks it, right?) has shot for in Out, Vogue Hommes, V-Man, among other publications. Not sure how he met Mr. Quinto but Joe Jonas checked out Miles with Zachary from the front row at New York Fashion Week this spring when he was walking for Richard Chai. He’s also walked for Alexander McQueen, Dior Homme and John Varvatos and modeled in campaigns for H&M, Tommy Hilfiger, Topman, Lucky Jeans and Paul Smith. Plus, he’s apparently an artist — who’s painted nude self-portraits. NSFW! Hello!? (see below.) That’s about all I know. You can follow Miles on Instagram but you won’t find any pics with bf Zach there – I already checked. But somebody took that sweet picture that was captioned “Buddha kiss”. I can say that, being one myself – an artist, not a pervert. New York Magazine art critic Jerry Saltz got a wild hair on Facebook the other day and started posting these sexy sixties (and seventies?) book covers, which paint artists as lewd sex fiends, with shady motives. Well, I can’t really argue with any of that, so I thought I’d share, since the cat’s out of the bag. I guess being an artist DOES have its perks, even without selling a single painting.

John Waters’s memoir/travelogue Carsick is out this month. In it, the mustachioed writer/director crosses the country twice. First on a series of imaginary rides and then he actually hitchhikes from his house in Baltimore to his apartment in San Francisco. He waves various signs – one that reads, “I’m not a psycho”. He decided to do it again last week in NYC for New York Magazine and he set out with a sign reading “Frick Collection” — “because we’re in tony, historic Greenwich Village.” He explained his reasons for the cross country trip:

“I wanted an adventure. Because my life is so controlled and planned. I used to stand in front of the Holland Tunnel tollbooth in the ’60s, and no one would ever pick me up. It’s very different hitchhiking when you’re 16 and when you’re 66. I didn’t have any rabid gerontophiliacs pick me up.” And he imagines what could go most wrong on the trip uptown. “The worst case scenario would be someone that didn’t speak the language, so we couldn’t really tell what they were doing. But immediately the locks go down. And it smells. We ride one block, and they turn around and blow both our heads off.”

Me, I can’t wait to read it. He always makes me laugh and for all his successes, he seems to be the same subversive crackpot dreamer he always was. Did you watch the episode of RuPaul Drives where he picks John up? It’s a two-parter and worth a watch. Those two!

Comedian Tracy Morgan is in critical condition after his limo bus was involved in a six-car accident on the New Jersey Turnpike early Saturday morning. The accident involved two tractor-trailers, an SUV, and two cars, in addition to the limo bus, Sgt. Gregory William of the New Jersey State Police said. Gregory William of the New Jersey State Police said. Tracy had performed Friday night at the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino in Dover, Delaware. UPDATE 12:20EST: James McNair, best known as “Jimmy Mack”, was the person killed in the accident. The 63-year-old comic of Peekskill, N.Y. was pronounced dead at the scene. McNair was named as one of Morgan’s comedy writers and close friends.

OK, I was trying for a sensational, click-bait headline because one of the grooms, Nick Denton, owns Gawker, among other titles, like Jezebel and Gizmodo. Fail. So, new media baron Nick Denton, 47, and actor Derrence Washington, 31, got married in grand style and it was, by all accounts sensational! – but not in a scandalous way. The American Museum of Natural History was the setting and the Hayden Planetarium played a 40-minute trip through the stars for al of their guests. (Who does that? Nick & Derrence, it seems.) Denton and Washington have been dating since 2011. (…so, by my math, they met when Derrence was in his late 20s and Nick in his mid-40s. This wedding COULD be scandalous after all. Older/ younger! Mixed race! Gay! Nope, sorry. In New York City, that’s a Tuesday.) Well, during the ceremony, Mr, Denton, senior, who had flown in from his native Yorkshire, England, spoke of his pride at being at his “gay son’s” wedding. And in the words of the man officiating the nuptials, Benjamin Seaman (also the couple’s therapist) from that moment on, no-one there would be able to say they were a “GWV” a “gay wedding virgin” any longer. No scandal here. Everybody say LOVE!
